  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i am training to become a bus driver with stagecoach, this means that i will be learning new skills and completing different training exercises. i will be helping to transport the general public around the sussex area ensuring they get to their destination on time and in a safe manner.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learnt many new skills so far, including reversing training on the bus. i have completed many tests so far and passed them all this includes the cpc exam, theory test for the pvc test as well as basic maths and english. i have my practical exam/test left to do before i am able to go out and drive the bus.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i am very much enjoying this program, my training officer has made it easy to follow and a nice experiance where i dont feel too under pressure and am able to ask any questions and seek advise without hesitation. i feel that i am able to complete this program and continue on to becoming a qualified bus driver.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • this particular program is very well structured and is easy to follow, i sometimes struggle due to myself having dyslexia but have had no issues so far and when i do struggle my training officer is always on hand to help read a question or give me the correct spelling.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my training officer has been very supportive and will always answer and questions or concerns that i may have. as there are a group of us we also help each other out if we dont understand what we need to be doing or a task that has been set for us to complete.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • my training officer has been increadably helpfull and is always on hand to help with any questions, queries or advice i may need. i feel comfortable going to my training officer whenever i may need to. my training officer makes our training sessions fun and informative at the same time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel that the training for the qualification i require is helping me imensley if i didnt recieve the training i would not be able to perform my duty to the general public. the training i am recieving is very informative and will help me progress further giving me new skills.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • as i have only been doing my training for a few weeks i am not yet sure if there are any extra-curricular activities that i can become involved with outside of work just of yet. but as there is a group of us doing the training at the same time we have formed a group chat and are planning activities to do once the training is completed.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • stagecoach so far have been a great company, the training for my apprentership has been very informative and helpful, i have many people i can turn to if i need help with anything and it is easy to get hold of those people. i feel that i will fit in well with this company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stagecoach UK?
  • i would advise people to be honest, ensure they have all the correct information before joining. the training may take a few weeks/months but it is totally worth it and the training courses are really helpful and informative. stagecoach has a very good rating and treats their employees with dignity and respect.
