I manage small projects, complete doc control on large projects, shadow commercial managers.
Different styles of communication, team management and team morale, stakeholder management and client communication, Excel and computing skills.
I am content with my programme and count myself lucky to have such an opportunity.
University are extremely well organised with clear structure from inception to graduation, Arcadis are a little less clear, but are still transparent.
I receive tutoring from multiple different colleagues with a buddy programme set up from day 1. I am able to reach out to any member of my team for help.
I receive some support dependent on the module lead but at times they are poor with communication and expect the students to understand without any previous knowledge of the content/event.
I believe the basics are taught and they transfer across from the university studies to the workplace. However, since the work I complete is specialised, there is a majority of the work that does not transfer over.
There are clubs and teams, early career events and office events. The York office is good, but I've heard other offices are not as good.
Yes
It is a friendly office and a good starting place to learn, it is challenging but accepting.
Don't apply for the degree apprenticeship solely for the free degree, you have to enjoy the work as it is part of everyday life. If you are a hard worker and you are passionate in your ability, you will love Arcadis as it is a modern organisation.
