I manage a team of 14 people who plan and deliver the press adverts, weekly print and digital leaflet and local store marketing. I am also responsible for the internal photostudio. Day-to-day involves developing the team, presenting updates to the board, and project managing.
I was previously in the design team as the design lead. This apprenticeship allowed me to step up to this role and it has really helped my learning.
The program has been difficult to juggle the day-to-day with the learning of the course. But it was fulfilling being able to apply the learning to day-to-day tasks. It has opened doors for me too.
The coursework learning content is very well organised and structured. It takes you through everything you need to know. The monthly organisation of workshops was a bit sporadic and wasn't always as well planned as they could be.
Lots of support from around the business giving me time to learn about different areas of marketing.
I was always to get in a meeting when required to discuss ideas or theories. Their support for dyslexia needs to be improved to ensure trainers and mentors are aware of what to look out for.
Much better, I am a much better marketer now. Going through the course has given me so much knowledge i didn't already know.
There are drinks events every couple of months. Occasionally an industry expert comes to speak to us.
Yes
I would say yes to both. Training provider delivered material well. Company was very supportive through the process.
Know that is a lot of work and will take up more time than the allocated 8 hours a week. Make sure you want to do the course before you do it as it takes a long time and you need to be motivated.
