  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is being a nursery practitioner which involves being a key person within the toddler room, I change nappies, write two observations weekly, care for all the children at the nursery and look after their needs. If there was any sort of problem I would whistleblow to my DSL.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my time at the nursery, I've learnt a variety of skills, I've learnt how to communicate, care, and help the children to develop and meet their milestones. I've learnt the correct way to talk and communicate with parents. I've learnt all about safegauring and policies/procedures

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • In my program I enjoy getting to know each individual child, learning about how to support a child's early life skills and development. I enjoy the responsibility of ensuring a child is in a safe and secure environment where they are looked after. I enjoy working towards being qualified

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well organised as I get emails to remind me to update my off the job hours, get onthly zooms with my assessor where I do a discussion to work towards my end point assessment and also I get to join webinars where I can better learn the skills I need

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer I get a lot of support as I have a mentor to whom I can go to if I need any assistance, advice and support. I have a great working environment where I feel secure, I have a lot of positive role models to look up to so that i can be my best self

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get lots of support from my training provider where I can go to if I have any questions on parts of subjects I don't quite get and they can help me to understand. They help with any queries I have about my course and I can contact them

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is helping me greatly to perform better in my role as a nursery practioner as I have jmkwledge and skills on topics which I would of know without them, they helpthrough webinars and zooms which I can ask questions to further my knowledge which helps greatly with the children

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my nursery we do weekly room meeting where we discuss what happens in each room for example we have one in baby room has a meeting, toddler room have a meeting and pre school have a meeting. Every two weeks we have a staff meeting where we discuss the nursery and every couple konths we have staff training days

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are such a caring environment for the children and also the staff, they provide great care to all children including British values. The team is amazing we all take care of each other and give everyone equal opportunities in their role. There is a great atmosphere within the nursery


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Moseley Montessori Nursery?
  • Advice and tips I would give someone apply applying would be confident working with the children, get down to their level and explain everything to their age appropriate. Be positive whilst working withthe children so that they have the same energy. Have high levels of energy and to enjoy what they do
