I am a credit control administrator and my role involves cash collection, resolving disputes, allocating payments, providing copy invoices, statements and credit notes. We also handle all incoming calls for credit control and process any returned post containing invoices and statements by contacting the customer to confirm the necessary details.
I have increased my understanding of the company as a whole and how the credit control role fits within the organisation. From speaking to the other learners on the course I have also learnt from their experiences. I have improved on my time management skills and how to prioritise my workstack effectively.
I enjoyed the programme as a whole and enjoyed learning about my role in more detail, The only part of the programme I found hard was the professional discussion at the end as I was not sure what the expectation was or how much detail to go into without giving too much detail on company processes.
Initially I struggled with the structure of the programme as this was not something that I had experienced before and the initial person I dealt with at Kaplan did not explain this very well in my opinion. My second Kaplan coach was much more informative and by the end I felt that I knew what they were looking for and fully understood the structure.
My line manager provided excellent support and I felt that I could approach them at any time with any queries or concerns.
I had 6 weekly and 12 weekly check ins with my Kaplan coach and I knew that I could call or email them at any time and they would assist in anyway they could
My qualification has enabled me to fully understand each element of my role and provide me with useful tips and techniques for managing my time and prioritising my workload and how to handle negative situations better
we have a volunteering programme within Wolseley which support local charities and events and you are able to volunteer for the ones that we are interested in. This also includes the annual Ripon Theatre Festival and I was part of the walk-about squad during one of the 3 days.

They are a good company to work for and are actively involved in supporting the local community. There is a good talent progression in place and everyone is encouraged to get involved
Be honest, be willing to work as part of a team but to also show initiative when working on your own, be willing to learn and improve
