Analyst - working with clients to assess their risk and model potential losses to their book of business for certain perils
Yes, learnt a lot of technical skills - how to use the models, how to use SQL, R, GIS mapping tools. Improved presentation skills also.
It is very good for learning and development but difficult to juggle sometimes between work commitments and the apprenticeship work.
Very well-organized but you do not find out about the extent of each stage until you get there - more transparency at beginning would be good to help long term planning ahead
A lot of support from my employer, especially my manager who underwent the process herself which helped
A lot of support from my growth company tutor with detailed feedback and suggestions at each stage etc which was good, a lot of resources also provided if needed
Its a good way to show and prove to myself everything I have learnt during my last 2 years here - gives confidence more than anything - not sure what I have learnt directly links to my role as an analyst however
Yes quite a few, lots of team socials, a couple of sports teams and periodically there are professional networking events that we can get involved in
Yes
Good place to start your career (as an analyst anyway) due to the opportunities a large broker provides. The REACH scheme is also a good way to meet people and develop as a cohort - you have a support network of peers from the get go.
Read up on reinsurance and the structure of the market players before the interview
