I am responsible for the day to day management and compliance of a registered children's home providing short break care for disabled children and young people. This is a service commissioned by the local authority.
I have had the opportunity to develop upon my practice as a manager and also have more opportunities to reflect on day to day practice to enable me to enhance my knowledge
I have now completed it and it has allowed me to progress within the organisation because I now have a recognised qualification within my field
I found that the end part was perhaps the most difficult in terms of filling the gaps and would have liked these to have been more built in as i went.
The support has been limited and i have had to be very disciplined in my work to achieve my qualification as I have needed to manage my own time effectively around my work related duties.
i have had regular contact with my tutor throughout the course.
It is a mandatory aspect of the role I hold under the regulations for the service
