I work to support Jr Doctors who require sponsorship in order to gain a work visa in order to train and work within England. I work with the Doctors from the point of their appointment to a training programme to ensure their Visa Sponsorship is in place so they can apply to the Home Office for a work Visa. I will then support that Dr throughout their training to maintain their sponsorship. This includes recording, monitoring and reporting details to the Home office as needed.
Yes, I have. I am happy to report that having now completed the apprenticeship, I have developed new skills that I did not have prior to taking the apprenticeship. I also have further developed skills and work patterns and methods that were in place prior to completing the apprenticeship programme
At times I found the apprenticeship programme very frustrating. There were times when I wanted to work faster than the programme would allow me to. For instance I would often have to wait longer than I thought I should to get feedback or have an assignment marker by my tutor. Over all though I did enjoy it.
The organisation and structure of the programme was, to be fair to all, was hit or miss. At times it felt highly structured and well organised, but at other times it felt all a bit random. It would have been nice if it had been consistent across the whole of the training.
At the beginning of my apprenticeship I received hardly any support, which did not serve me well. I struggled. However, as I changed teams and functions the support I was afforded changed. I was supported and encouraged to participate in the apprenticeship. I could not have finished the programme without the support I finally received. It made all the difference.
The support I received from my training provider was again, hit or miss. At times the support was almost too much, which made me not want to do the work. But then, at other times, it felt like there was no support or interaction from the training provider at all.
On reflection I do feel that my qualification, through my training provider has and will help me improve my performance in my role. At first I was not sure that it would be appropriate to my role or add anything to my current role. Turns out I was wrong and it has.
I do not feel this question relates to my experience with in my apprenticeship. The question does not provide any feedback on my apprenticeship. I do not understand why having extra curricular activities at my work place has anything to do with my apprenticeship. It's not relevant to the apprenticeship.
