  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working on various areas of the Audit file, having internal meetings with my team and external meetings when requesting support from the client. Internal meetings involve planning what tasks I will do in the day and also coaching me for these tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my ability to work in a team, as I have been in a team during my whole placement. I have also developed my excel skills, improving every day that I work. My overall audit ability has also improved, as I came into placement with no experience. The coaching from my seniors was very helpful and allowed me to improve.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot, as it allows me to have a mix of university while also having real world experience and working towards my ACA qualification. Gaining this working experience during university is very good and I am glad that I have the opportunity to learn at work and at university.

  • The programme is structured very well overall, I always understand what is expected of me and who to ask if I have any questions. Programme information is always communicated in an efficient and timely manner

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support, I am aware of many people in my support network that I can ask when necessary. Support in the workplace is very easy to get and is very helpful when working, in terms of coaching through tasks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive frequent update emails from ICAEW regarding check ins on our work and exams.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that while studying for and sitting my ACA exams I gather knowledge that helps me understand my role better. Working allows me to see how this knowledge is applied in the real world.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many socials, including whole office socials and team socials. There are also sports activities to get involved in, an example of this is the weekly office football match.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend PwC, as I believe the culture is great, I feel like the work environment is very supporting and everyone I have met has been very friendly. The opportunities for growth in PwC are also brilliant and I believe that anyone can succeed in an environment like this


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • I would advise others applying to PwC to make sure they get involved in socials and extra-curricular activities and make plenty of friends in the office. A tip i would give is to ensure you are not shy when you need help, as people are always willing to coach you when necessary
