My role involved helping to pick and document evidence and samples for clients as well as applying professional judgement in many areas of work. Additionally, I worked on stock counts which involved visiting client sites and ensuring their counts were accurate and documented correctly. It was difficult but extremely rewarding work.
I have developed and improved many skills throughout my placement including communication skills which developed through talking to clients and seniors, determination skills which developed through persevering with the work, and confidence which was vital to my role and to applying my professional judgement throughout the work I completed during my placement.
I really enjoyed the placement this year as I was given a lot more work and learned so much. I developed throughout the placement and could see my improvement in all areas as I was given more challenging work. It was exciting to have a go at different things and I enjoyed the challenge.
My program is extremely well structured. There were many calls put into place to help us understand the structure of the placement and that was really useful. We had a lot of support and it really helped with making me more comfortable when starting my placement as I can be quite daunting.
I received a lot of support from my employer throughout the placement. We were allocated a career coach to help guide us through the process which was really useful. It also allowed for a lot of networking opportunities. Then we also had Flying Start Champions who had gone through the process themselves.
We received some help from whilst working towards our qualifications as they are extremely understanding and helpful when we have questions or are confused about something. It is rare to be given that much support and it is extremely useful. As a lot of the colleagues have gone through the same thing, they are very understanding.
The qualification really helps towards performing in my role as a lot of the content is applicable to the work I am completing. It is really useful to be able refer back to that content as it can help with the work and helps to solve a lot of the questions I have.
There are quite a few extra-curricular activities that are at the workplace but I have not gotten involved in too many. There are a lot of socials which are a great way to network and to talk to people and it is really nice to see everyone from the workplace come together
Yes
It is an amazing place to work. The culture is really nice and the office is a really welcoming environment. The people are so nice and always available and willing to help with potential questions and there are so many support systems in place to make everyone feel comfortable at work.
I would say to be yourself and demonstrate why PwC would be the company for you. Look at the value of the company and determine if they align with your own values as that is extremely important. Ensure you put effort into researching the company and learn as much as you can about it.
