Providing support with the children and expanding their learning. Preparing them for school as I work with 3-5yrs. I help them with food preparation and provide them with lots of learning opportunities around our classroom.
It has developed my communication skills as not all children can communicate verbally so we learn ways of communication to suit their needs and for them to help us in telling us what they want.
I think this program is great. You are constantly learning and improving on skills. Leaning on what works and what can be done better. You have support around you for guidance.
It is well structured and well organised. I get emails from realise if there is anything that I need to do. They provide me with support and things that I can read up on if I need help on.
My employer gives me plenty of support and guidance. I constantly ask for things to improve on and have monthly checks to see what I didn’t feel confident on previously and now what I can do confidently.
My training provider provided me with plenty of support by constant emails about meetings that I attend to and websites that can provide me with information about my work and what I can do better on.
I feel as though my qualification helps me loads to perform better as I’m consistently working on skills and learning the different behaviours of children and what to look out for but also what I can provide for the children for when they move on to their next stage.
Once a month we have a meeting with all staff to see what works and what needs improving on. We get to talk about new policies as we have a new policy of the month. We also get questions about our knowledge which helps us understand how different procedures go such as lockdown protocols or even fire drills.
Yes
Because they provide so much support and guidance that it’s really helpful when you come home from work and you can look at what you can do as a practitioner to help build on their learning and how to make it fun for them which helps intrigue them into the learning.
I would advise them to try it! I feel confident in my work and that’s because of my learning provider. They have helped build on skills that I didn’t even know were required such as my problem solving skills. They teach me all things that we may come across in the work sector and how we deal with it.
