Provide tax advice on international transactions for buy side and sell side. Help clients with their structuring and tax efficiency through different deliverables and reports. Work in a diverse team with junior and senior staff as well as with our international teams to provide our client with top class information.
I have learnt more skills such as tax knowledge and accounting and finance. I have also developed existing skills such as team working, time management, project management. I have learnt to prioritise and be an effective communicator which allows me to help my team to the best of my ability.
I enjoy the programme however I do feel that the workload with working full time (mostly longer too) and studying is incredibly challenging and very detrimental to one’s mental health. Whilst you learn to juggle, it’s very difficult to live a healthy life outside especially during busy seasons and exam periods.
Whilst the programme is organised and structured, I do feel that it is not done in an efficient or well way. Apprentices are not given enough time to prepare for exams especially those working during too. For anyone resitting exams, there is little to no support which is a real struggle.
This depends on the person, as a whole I would say the support is little especially to those who have a disability. Whilst the learning provider offers extra time for exams, the employer offers no further support and you are left feeling very alone and stressed. If you are struggling, the advice is simply to take extra annual leave to study.
I would say the support here is adequate, although not exceptional. They provide documents such as notes, questions and past papers, however don’t always explain things in an easy to understand way. I would say the time pressure of fitting so much content into such a short time period is definitely a large contributing factor.
Whilst the qualification is certainly somewhat relevant, I do believe it is geared more towards other job titles. I do think a heavier focus on tax and accounts would have been more beneficial and applicable to my role than a whole qualification in accountancy which includes multiple other topics too.
No - apart from help my team with their recruitment.
Yes
Whilst I have not had the best time, I do think to the right person this apprenticeship could be a great route.
Do thorough research on the service lines, you don’t get to pick your specialism so make sure you want to go into that field e.g., tax. I would Also make sure you are happy doing a qualification and are capable to work under such a demanding and stressful environment
