As a support worker my role is to support individuals to live a good life. my role involves taking the pws out to do their shopping or to do activities within the community. I also support them with their daily activities such as laundry, cooking and cleaning. my role also involves administering medication and ordering medication. I also do medication stock checks. I also plan activity planners for the week.
From being a support worker to a senior I have learnt lots of new skills such as updating support plans and doing medication monthly audits. i have also learn how to lead shifts and to support staff.
I like my programme i find it very interesting.
its very organised and my mentor sets me tasks and communicates with me.
if i need anything my manager provides me with the support i require.
my mentor also provides me with all the tools that I require to complete my tasks. she also provides good communication skills.
it will help me to have a better understanding of my role. it will also help me to learn new skills which will allow me to progress.
if there are any events these will be communicated via email.
