I work with babies and toddlers, this includes caring for them everyday, changing their nappies, helping them with toilet training, feeding them, helping them develop and grow as young people. It is my responsibility to make sure they learn right and wrong and learn to be independent, getting them ready for the big world.
I have learnt many new skills including leadership, my confidence and social skills have improved greatly and I have made lots of new friends through work, through doing this apprenticeship I have learnt things I hadn’t heard or or did not know about before such as the British values.
I really enjoy it, it’s very hands on which I enjoy getting to learn from my co-workers who have been there a while and getting to know knew people and talk to parents. I love helping the children grow and teaching them new things everyday, I also learn a lot from the webinars etc.
I think it is quite organised there are some things I need help on but I can always ask and I receive the help, any time I cannot attend a webinar or meeting due to illness etc it is rescheduled so I do not miss out, I find onefile quite easy to use now aswel.
My employer and managers give me lots of support and are always pushing me to be the best I can be, I have no worries about asking a question or asking for help if I am unsure on something as I know they will always be there to help me with work or any concerns/ worries.
My training provider is great! I can always ask her for help and she responds quickly and gives no judgement, she gives the right information and enough information for me to understand, and if I don’t understand I am not afraid or worried to ask for her help as I know she will.
I feel that by joining and taking part in the webinars and zooms it helps me do better at my job, as I know more about what to do, how to do it and why we do it which means the children benefit much more from me than if I didn’t know anything at all.
Not at my place of work.
Yes
Realise is very good and supportive, the staff are lovely and are always there to help whenever it is needed, they are wonderful and giving information on webinars and zooms and very friendly, so you feel comfortable when talking to them or asking for help on something.
My advice would be never be worried or afraid to ask for help! There is never any judgement. We all struggle with different things and some things are harder to understand than others, it’s better to ask and succeed than to not know and fail. The staff at realise are very helpful.
