My responsibilities range from creating interactive dashboards on Tableau to help the operational department track KPI's, to conducting analyses presented via written reports or verbal presentations. The core objective of my role is twofold: analysing our data comprehensively and communicating it effectively. This ensures that decision-makers are guided by data and fosters a culture of data literacy across our workforce.
I have learnt how to use SQL and Python to leverage my daily tasks - I can now write scripts in python to cleanse data and prepare it for analysis. This has also allowed me to make my dashboards more efficient too as, rather than querying an entire database, only the script output is used.
I thoroughly enjoy the level 4 data analyst apprenticeship, it was a seamless transition from the level 3 and just over 6 months in, I have upskilled and progressed professionally due to this.
The structure so far has been logical and concise; this has meant my learning has been clear and each course has progressed my knowledge further.
My employer ensures I have sufficient time to complete apprenticeship work, and that my role aligns well with the standard so that I am able to gather evidence for my projects.
I have a coach who I am able to speak to about anything apprenticeship related - she is there to offer me support and I can book in sessions with her 1-1 where we can discuss my projects or anything else I'd like to talk about. We talk about my progress in reviews and my future plans to ensure I am on the right path.
My apprenticeship is aligned perfectly to my role as a data analyst. I am able to implement new skills that I learn into the role and increase efficiency and showcase my new skills in analysis reports.
Yes we have events on frequently, team building events like group hikes, and the opportunity to go on professional networking/learning events - I have been to international womens day events where i have met other women in this industry and been inspired by their work.
Yes
I thoroughly enjoyed my level 3 apprenticeship and am enjoying the level 4 too. This apprenticeship has been a huge driver in my professional progression and I wouldn't be in this position in the data industry if I hadn't enrolled onto the apprenticeships.
Have a look on Baltic's website to see what apprenticeships they offer, and if any align with your career goals. It is the perfect time to get a job in the digital world, and an apprenticeship with Baltic is the perfect route to begin on this journey!
