I work in the International Tax and transactions sub service line, in the Private Equity team. Our clients are mainly Private Equity firms who we assist on deals and transactions. My role is to support my seniors in producing DD reports, structuring reports, funds flows as well as many other tasks
Since joining EY, I have developed many skills. I am studying for the ACA qualification so I study many different modules such as Tax, management information, Law, Business Technology, Finance. As well as this we have regular trainings specific to our role, these all help to boost my understanding and develop my skills
I enjoy the program to a great extent, I work with a very friendly team who are always supportive and helpful. My program has a good structure in terms of my exams and mandatory trainings which makes it easier for me to focus on the important parts rather than admin
The program is structured very well, it is a 4 year program with all of my exams spread out across it. This also allows enough time for me to complete my practical work experience hours and off the job learning hours. The exam dates are flexible if I wanted to change it for a specific reason
I receive plenty of support from my employer, as well as my counsellor who is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, there are many people who I can reach out to such as my apprenticeship coach, buddy or any others in my team
My training provider has a very helpful website where I can watch videos about each chapter I am studying, complete mock exams and also access all the questions ( via question bankc) and all the course notes I need. Where necessary for some exams we have in person sessions or virtual for some of them
My qualification helps me to understand what I do in my role and also the technical parts of the things that we do and the reasoning behind them. This makes it much easier for me at work to understand whats going on and allows me to enjoy what I do
At EY there are many societies, networks and clubs to join. As well as this there are many networking events as well. These are great opportunities to meet new people, expand your network and enjoy time outside of work with your colleagues. Doing this makes working with them much more enjoyable as well
Yes
At EY there is a very friendly and inclusive environment. EY is also very responsible environmentally as well as efforts to help other parts of the world e.g EY Ripples project. Not only this EY is a very large company with very large clients, and performs very well, hence it is part of the big 4
You will need to prepare well as there are many people who apply to and want to join EY each year, It is important to do your research about the company and show why you want to join EY specifically and why you are the perfect person for the role
