I assist my mentor and other skilled individuals in carrying out repairs, installations and replacements of various plant equipment in order to support the THP process, this can vary greatly from day to day.
I have gained a lot of accuracy when it comes to developing plans and actions to support the repair and replacement process of equipment. I have gained key instrumentation and electrical understanding beyond the level I had previously understood, particularly the understanding of electricity.
I understand a lot more about the function of electricity in components and the larger overall goal of automation, the day to day challenges that arise and the variety of work is highly rewarding and provides a constant, steady learning curve.
In the beginning at several points there has been a lack of information, or sometimes a direct contradiction of information provided. This has created some stopping and starting during the learning and workflow however as I reached midway point mostly everything has been resolved.
Support has been excellent and never any question in my mind.
The support has been good, but sometimes I felt that the information provided was slightly contradictory however the overall level of support was Okay throughout.
It provided a general overview to most future technology items I am likely to encounter, I found this to be very re-assuring as I encountered new faults and issues during my role. There were certain things that I felt could have been emphasised more and other things that were not so relevant.
There have been plenty of opportunities for all of the above.
Yes
It has provided the bases for my furthered education and the work environment is excellent, it is one of the best places I have worked for.
Be honest about your skills and hobbies and you will put the in the right direction towards improving them, as the apprenticeship has shown me repeatedly.
