As a technical consultant my job entails working closely with the stakeholders, understanding objectives, managing expectations and delivering tasks to the developers
I have learnt an array of skills, from coding, web development, creating robust documents and how to analyse effectively
I enjoy my programme immensely as i have been able to learn a lot
It is extremely structured as it adheres to the 80/20 method. I spend one day a week at university and the rest of my time, i dedicate to working and learning at IBM
There are many lines of support i have here at IBM. I have my peers, mentors and managers i can contact if i need any help
At university, i receive good support through my teachers and skills coach
I feel as though there is an overlap in the teaching from university and through work, though i pick up a lot of my learning by just doing the tasks handed to me at wokr.
I am eager to get involved in events and groups and I have done so, however most of them seem to be located in London
Yes
IBM continues to be a place that is friendly, inviting and positive. There isn't an element of intimidation at all and I firmly believe working here would appeal to people like me who had no corporate work experience prior to working here
Be authentic, remain enthusiastic and do your research about the company before your interview.
