In my role, in the mornings I have to make sure all the buildings are in top condition ready for other employees to start working. I will get set reactive jobs from around the business which I will complete throughout the day, due to priority, and be put onto bigger projects which take more time. I will have a lot of interactions with other employees throughout the business to ensure they are working in the best conditions. My day to day basis varies as I am doing something different everyday due to different reactive tasks that get passed to me every single day. I have the responsibilities of making sure the temperatures in the buildings are set to the correct temperature and perfect working conditions for other employees.
I have learnt many new skills from my time being in Facilities, one of the main skills I have improved on is my customer interactions and service. As I am always walking around the buildings, I create many relationships with other employees around the business and this has helped to build my confidence in talking to new people and making them feel comfortable being able to talk to me and ask questions. I am still developing my knowledge in areas such as building maintenance and health and safety. These areas will help me in my role as it helps me to know more about how buildings operate and identifying any potential risks or hazards for other employees.
I really enjoy my course as I am learning everyday and gaining a lot of experience everyday completing tasks and helping out on bigger projects with the rest of the team. I really enjoy the aspect of my every day basis being different and completing different tasks everyday in order to fulfil our customers needs.
Personally I think that my programme is very organised and well structured as it has a very good balance with collage work and on the job work. My programme is very well structured as I have clear goals and objectives which are easily trackable and accessible in order for me to grow within my role and to achieve higher standards.
I receive a lot of support from my employer as I can always ask him questions on any topic and he can help me. I try to ask a lot of questions about my role and about jobs which are needed to be completed and he can always help me out if I am unsure on something.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider as they are always checking up on me to see how I am getting on and if I have any questions to ask about the collage work or any assignments which have been set. I can freely ask questions whenever and receive a detailed answer every time which is very helpful for me in my role.
My training provider and collage lessons help me to perform better as it makes sure I use the knowledge gained from the sessions and then implement these into my role and helps me to make sure I am using the terms learnt in my assignments and when working with other experienced members.
Within Motability, we have many charitable events being taken place all over the year in order for any employee across the business to get involved in. As there are 3 different main sites across the UK (Bristol, London and Edinburgh), Motability like to spread these events out around these places. Recently there has been a football tournament in London and recently Motability have partnered up with Disable racing drivers to show that anyone can be whatever they want to be.
Yes
I would recommend Motability towards a friend as it is such a very good company to work for and everybody is welcoming and feels comfortable talking to one another. The support given by all the managers across the business is amazing and everybody is there to help each other out.
The one piece of advice I would give to someone applying for Motability is to be themselves as Motability employers look for somebody to bond with and to make a good connection with. I would also make sure that you are giving 100% in everything that you do because your hard work will be appreciated by your employer and other co workers.
