Analysing data and reporting on the latest updates in the UK economy and the new and used car markets
I've learnt and developed many skills over the last few years, including Excel and data analysis, data visualisation, presentation, market research, and basic coding in Python and SQL.
While the balance of working and studying can be difficult to manage when exams and work commitments overlap, the amount I am able to accomplish in doing both has been extremely rewarding
The apprenticeship is very well managed - I have a mentor, buddy and an early careers representative in HR. I get 20% of my week freed up to study during term time and my managers are very flexible in letting me adjust my timetable to cater to my university needs.
My managers have been extremely helpful in my working and studying. My line manager in particular has made time to help me learn content on my university course and has taught me most of the new skills I've been developing.
The university has supported my learning by organising meetings with a student study advisor, however I have struggled with the online learning approach, and unfortunately there are no in person classes available at the moment.
The content I'm learning from my training provider forms the foundations of the work I'm learning in my role. I find that I learn a lot more practical knowledge on the job and more theoretical knowledge from my training provider.
I am the social secretary of our department, where I organise all the social events for 30+ people. I started out as a volunteer when I first joined and have taken over the role form the previous social sec. I also joined the Women in Tech working group.
