I complete analysis that helps inform policy colleagues. I work in a statistics team, so help on analysis and creation of statistics publications. My role has also included analysis using R and Excel, economic appraisal and unit organisation.

I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot. I find my university very supportive and my studies very engaging. I am really supported at work and able to work on my development.
The university organisation is very good. Follows curriculum calendar sent before the academic year begins. Enough time to complete work and good engagement from lecturers via online webinars and lectures. The year commences with a residential week and contains 3 face-to-face sessions per year. Drop in sessions to ask additional questions.
I am in a very supportive division at work. I have great support from my unit and team. I have a task manager and line manager to support me. I work in London so have many helpful and friendly colleagues that are always happy to help.
There are online study materials. We receive advise to help with assessments. There are weekly drop-in sessions for apprentices of all cohorts. We can email our teachers directly and use online forums. We can ask questions at the weekly online seminars. The University of Kent also allow us to have access to other online materials - textbooks, economic newspaper subscriptions, mental health services, etc.
The degree is designed to include a more applied focus. It has been helpful and applicable to my role. Our lecturers keep in mind that many of us work us analysts in the Government Economic Service so use relevant examples.
