As civil engineer apprentice in the railway sector some of the day to day tasks include design, collect information, research or inspect asset that have civil engineering interest.
Although I was familiar with 3D software such as AutoCad, my work enables me to learn more on the topic and maintain my existing level.
I enjoy the program as I am very interested in mechanics and design. The people that support my development are very helpful and supportive but also the University is delivered remotely. That allows me to use my time more efficiently.
The programme is well organised, from university but also from the company.
The company allows as a 20% off week to focus in study but also provides study leave to help with the challenging days. In an ideal word a 40% off from work would be great as study work is quite challenging.
Overall there is no complain as no support was needed. Although, tutors are very helpful with responding for any questions even on weekends.
As we are building on fundamental knowledge in the first years of university, there is no corelation between the materials. Over time though, the combine knowledge will help to shape a better understanding and methods of assessing and resolving engineering problem.
There is events from time to time.
