Working in a CAT 3 checking team, as part of the HS2 product. Working in CAD softwares, producing hand calcs in excel, using TEDDs and Midas.
Yes, my previous roles where more coordination based as opposed to raw design checks so I have improved my technical knowledge.
I enjoy my apprenticeship, however it can be difficult balancing a full time job, university and the added pressure from university to complete ICE IPD reports.
A lot better following a restructure of the apprenticeship program that allows apprentices to progress up the work levels. University side can be initially unorganised but sorts out after the first few weeks of each semester.
A lot, my employer is very supportive and gives me study leave etc. around exams when required.
Training provider gives adequate support towards my qualification, however helpfulness out side of university hours for queries depends on the lecturer.
I will have learnt the foundations of my understanding that will allow me to progress in the industry.

They have always supported my ambition to learn and progress. Following completion of my level 3 apprenticeship from 2017-2020, Arcadis was keen to support me through my degree apprenticeship. Understanding work life balance and flexible working.
