I work internally to support my line manager in the commercial conversations with our customer, this consists of tracking our sales number through the month; finding areas to push our sales/forecast in; work with marketing/brand teams to produce activations in our customer stores; staying on top of team projects and leading externally the sustainability activations for our account managers.
My communication skills have been development positively as my role consists of speaking to many different stakeholders across the company. In addition to learning to lead and make decisions, in my sustainability role i have had to propose launches and make decisions leading up to this. As well as excel skills, in an account executive role, you deal with many excel spread sheets, I have learnt pivot tables, formulas and many more skills.
I enjoy my day job a lot, I like that i get given responsibility and am trusted to lead certain projects. This allows me to show my team that i can achieve lots. In addition to that I enjoy the flex in my work days and university days. Essentially working part time and completing university alongside gives me a variety of tasks/learnings keeping my excited and engaged.
Very well structured, we have many support groups/people we can reach out to if we have any questions or issue that needs addressing. Check ins are scheduled routinely with certain functions of apprentices which allows apprentices to understand they are all in it together and not alone. The university and company communicate well and understand each others needs from us.
Lots of support. I can have extra days off work and focus on my university assignments if am falling behind.
Lots of support. I can emails my current lecturer or teams message then, within a couple of hours they will of replied to me with a very helpful answer, this aids me in completing my assignments to the best of my ability. Also I send draft assignments before the deadline so that they can critically mark this before, allowing me to achieve higher marks in my final submission.
In the long term this will help me achieve well as a manager and leadership. Currently i can't personally use any of the knowledge i am learning in my work as i am not a manger, however i can compare between my current managers and learn from them and take on their tactics.
Lots of activates to get involved with. I have been part of setting up a running club on Wednesday in my smaller team, there are netball and football teams to take part in. In my larger team, every summer there is a party to celebrate the year; as well as the whole company's Christmas event!
