Daily care for young people in the care system within a residential home. Maintaining cleanliness of the home, cooking, daily tasks, report writing, supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing.
I am continually learning new skills within this job role in regards to the care of the children and with documentation.
I enjoy this a great deal and am keen to continue with my professional development.
Unfortunately things did not get off to a great start for me with this apprenticeship as I experienced some inconsistencies and issues with my first tutor however, this situation has now changed and I am hopeful that things will improve moving forwards.
I receive a great deal of support from my employer.
As mentioned, there were some issues with my previous tutor however, now that I have a new one, I am confident that I will be given adequate support during the time I am working towards my qualification.
I feel that this qualification will be a great support to me and enable me to put the theory behind the practice of what I do on a daily basis within my job role.
Staff join the children on their activities.
Yes
Because it provides training that will enhance job roles.
Do not feel that you can't ask tutors to repeat instructions if you do not understand. Make sure you are disciplined with your own time management. Be aware that there is a lot of work involved.
