A typical day involves liaising with subcontractors in helping to procure packages. I also get involved with site members in order to widen my construction knowledge. At the moment I am involved with several packages such as tiling and soft flooring etc.
I have developed many skills throughout my time working with bam, the most important to me being my confidence to speak to new people as this is very important in a quantity surveying role.
The program I have chosen is a great fit for me as it combines on the job learning with academic qualifications, which provides me with the diversity in a job role I was looking for.
I believe the block release college course is perfect as it allows me to concentrate purely on site work or college work to avoid any stress or confusion.
I often receive appraisal and recognition from the work I complete on site or at college.
I receive support from site level all the way up to my line manager for the issues I have faced.
Learning about different construction practices and roles of people on site significantly aids my ability on site as I am able to better understand what is going on around me.
Yes we often have extra curricular activity’s, just recently I attended a darts night with other members of my company.
Yes
I believe my role within this company is a great fit and any support necessary I have received therefore, I would promote this to a friend
Be confident and try and ask questions (no question is a silly question).
