Software Engineer - Currently I am working on Royal Mail and I'm currently learning to write automated testing scripts which allows us to test all the RMG apps on a day-to-day basis.
My scripting skills have improved massively and my knowledge of backend systems has effectively sky-rocketed.
I am very happy waking up at 8am for this job is it never gets boring, each day brings a lot of new challenges. The culture and work style of the company is fairly laid back but extremely professional at the same time.
Even though everyone is very busy you will see that credit is given where credit is due. Manager's and other members will praise you when you've done well and also try and help you if you're struggling for any reason.
The structure of the course is extremely well designed and easy to follow. You can always chart your progress alongside the chart which is never a bad thing.
Manager's and other members of the team are extremely willing and capable of helping you at any avenue of blockage. Even when they're busy they will happily take a minute or two out to get you on your way.
Living and travel is covered fairly well, sometimes living in London can feel a bit pricey which is a problem at times. It costs me around £20 to travel to work each week and my rent takes up about 35% of my monthly wages which leaves me with about £800 to use on social costs which is extremely useful.
There are lots of local bars, cafes and gyms within minutes of the office. There is great travel ability as the bus and rail network in central London is extremely rapid.
Yes
Great company, great workplace, not a lot to fault here really. There is lots of support available at all times and nobody will turn you away when you ask for help and everybody is happy and very social.
Try and relax and don't get overwhelmed by the onboarding process. There is a lot of paperwork to fill out at the beginning but can be dealt with fairly quickly as they're not too complex of lengthy. Always remember to check your work emails as you can miss out on vital information.
