As a dental nurse I assist the dentist during procedures, sterilises equipment, process X-rays, and helps with patient care. I also keep records and ensure the dental office runs smoothly. I also prepare dental materials, provide oral health education to patients, and maintain infection control standards. I sometimes may also schedule appointments and handle administrative tasks.
I have learnt to chairside dentist, infection control, dental radiography, record-keeping, and patient communication. Developed skills in dental materials and equipment management, as well as teamwork and organization.
Because of the skills I have learned during my apprenticeship, I have enjoyed the programme very much. It has enabled me to develop many important skills that I can use not only at work but day to day life.
Very organised and well structured.
I receive a lot of support from my employers and they make sure that if I’m struggling with anything they are there to help me.
Very much, any question I have I would ask my assessor and she would help me. Getting lots of supports during the zoom calls and help if I don’t understand anything.
When having zoom calls with my assessors it allows me to perform more confidentially in my role.
Team meeting and evening meals
Yes
As it very supportive and they give good guidance.
Research about dentistry before applying, so you have bit more knowledge about it.
