Student Review

This week long work experience involved a variety of different workshops and lectures, all designed to help us learn and understand more about the law profession. We also took part in a group presentation that we prepared with out peers throughout the week.

From my weeks work experience at Hogan Lovells I have learnt new skills in terms of working as a team due to the group presentation that we took part in preparing. It was also useful to recognise how a law firm functions on a day to day basis and this helped me to understand this environment more.

I enjoyed this week long work experience at Hogan Lovells as it gave me the chance to meet a number of different people who were all insightful and useful as to helping me understand more about the law profession. The group presentation that i took part in also helped me to develop my skills in terms of working as a team which was highly beneficial for myself and my peers.

I felt very valued by Hogan Lovells when I did my week long work experience in the spring of 2015 as they took very good care of us and did everything they could to ensure that we were well looked after, comfortable and that we were enjoying our work experience.

Very well organised. We were given a clear structure of events on the first day that we followed exactly and took part in all activities/workshops at the designated slots.This was useful as we knew exactly what we were doing everyday and when we were doing it which allowed us to organise our time accordingly and take full advantage of the work experience programme provided by Hogan Lovells

We received a lot of support [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] throughout the week. They also emailed us before the work experience took place which was useful because we had our point of contact established before we even began with the work experience. This meant we all felt more comfortable going into our work experience and they made the week very enjoyable and useful for everyone who took part.

My weeks long work experience at Hogan Lovells in 2015 has provided me with a rich and useful amount of experience and the group activity that we took part in throughout the week was also highly beneficial in terms of opportunities outside of the Hogan Lovells environment as it has helped me to develop my skills in this specific area which was ultimately go on to help me in later employment.

I would reccomend the weeks long work experience that I participated in at Hogan Lovells to a friend who was interested in pursuing a career in law because the work experience enabled me to understand more about the law profession and about what actually happens in a law firm. In this respect it also helped to understand the day to day, ordinary challenges that a law firm as big as Hogan Lovells may face

I would urge my peers to apply for the week long work experience at Hogan Lovells, even if they weren't interested in pursing a career in law because it provides people with a lot of experience that they can go on to use in later employment that is not necessarily related to the law profession.
