I provide administrative support for Border Force officers, this can be arranging vehicle repairs and maintenance, ordering equipment and uniform, escorting visitors, such as engineers into the port. Producing and analysing data.
I have learned a lot of new skills about the workings of the organisation of the Home Office and Border Force. I have learned about invoicing to a Home Office level, managing a fleet of 18 vehicles. I have also bolstered existing skills from previous jobs.
I really enjoy learning as I work and I look forward to going to work every day. I feel valued as an officer of Border Force.
It is very well structured, with workshops for each phase of the apprenticeship. This sets me up nicely for the upcoming tasks and assessments.
My Higher Officer is very supportive and encouraging and liaises with my apprentice tutor regularly to help with my journey to gateway.
I receive regular feedback and support in workshops from my tutor and she's always on hand to help explain or help me with any issues.
I feel that what I have learned about stakeholders and project management has helped me greatly in my role.
Not that I have discovered yet.
