  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The role of a BMS Engineer (my role) and a Building Service Engineer (my degree) are not perfectly aligned. However the degree does give you a good knowledge of buildings which helps with the job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are activities. However everyone at Schneider is so spread out. My nearest office is over an hour away so social activities become difficult.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Schneider Electric to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The financial support they offer for Apprentices such as a free hire car and all expenses paid for fuel and public transport is a massive help for young people especially in my situation as a homeowner. They also do a good job motivating you to improve without putting you under too much pressure. Its a good environment for young people to grow and learn.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
  • Show you are willing to learn and ask lots of questions. In my experience they've looked for good hard working people and then they look at your skills second
