I am a care assistant within a care home. I helped to assist residents with personal care and daily activities when i am at work, I work in a dementia care home that has nursing and residential residents residing there.
I've learned loads of new skills and plenty of old ones too, such as first aid training and looking out for bed sores and skin tissue viability, Other skills is being kind and caring for your residents as if they were your own. Leading with Person centered care.
I am really enjoying the learning process as i can be as hands on in a daily aspect and have the online learning to be able to recognise what topic of information goes with each task.
It is extremely organised , i see my tutor online once every 4 to 6 weeks, we have scheduled meetings with myself and the home manger too and i'm able to get in touch with my tutor when ive i need to.
i receive as much support as i need. our home manger is behind my self learning 100% of the time.
100% support when and where i need it
i'm extremely grateful to all that offered me this qualification as it definitely does help in giving me confidence in the role that i do daily
yeah the home have special coffee morning and extra training that we are able to sign up for
Yes
i've found four seasons to be an excellent company to work for they take in my needs of not having childcare readily available so i am able to work around the childcare that i have available to myself.
be open and honest about what you can do, and always ask questions if you don't understand, listen to the staff that are already within the company they are a fundamental help when first starting out
