Gaining hands on experience in different areas of the production line at work, while attending university to gain knowledge in engineering that I can implement into my daily work.
I have learnt specific parts on engines and the workings behind them, while developing my problem solving skills.
I think this programme has a brilliant ratio of work, to studies. Working in a fast paced environment and constant learning without being overwhelmed with the work load.
I think our course is structured very well and clearly. I always know where I will be working and what I Will be studying. And i have found, if i do have any questions, the support system is very efficient in helping me find my answer.
The support from my direct lines of contact is very good. And everybody is very friendly and keen to help.
Most of our lecturers are supportive, fast responders that always offer additional help, however some lecturers/university tutors seem to have very delayed responses in supporting students.
Although some of my topics don't directly link into my daily work, I have definitely found use for the knowledge i have gained so far.
Our work is great at getting workers to contribute back to society and the environment. In my 6 months of working with Cummins, I have done multiple days of careers events, tours, Engineering clubs and presentations to all ages.
Yes
It is a great, well rounded company, from the support, the knowledge you gain, and the opportunities. There is always a chance to go above and beyond, and it doesn't go unnoticed.
