My Day to day role is to assist divisional finance managers with month end reporting as well as data cost analysis and reconciliations and handling finance related queries from members of the business.
I have developed my Excel skills while working at Savills as well as using other computer systems. I have also have developed my communication, writing and time management skills from the added responsibility of month end tasks that have strict deadlines.
I extremely enjoy the apprenticeship programme at Savills, I believe i have been given a great opportunity to gain experience in a diverse and innovative workplace while continuing with my education. I have also developed a lot of life skills working at the company,
There is a great structure to the programme having a set study day in place based on when our online lessons are, which is beneficial as it keeps my schedule regulated, but if needed there is still flexibility to change my study days if unforeseen circumstance's come up.
I receive lots of support from my employer, weather that's directly from my manager and the team as well as from the apprenticeship team at Savills, with frequent wellbeing calls to make sure we are happy in our roles and to discuss any concerns that I may have.
I receive constant support from my training provider from the weekly online lessons we have as a class as well as one to one support if required and the sense of trust I have built with my tutor that if I email her with any queries she will get back to be in timely fashion.
I think my qualification is helping me progress massively in my roles as the content I cover helps develop my understanding of the purpose of the day to day tasks that I carry out and the accounting behind them as well as helping me make educated decisions by myself instead of constantly having to ask my team for their opinions.
at the company we have multiple lunch and learns we can go along, which are a great way to learn more about the different sectors Savills ventures into as well as networking with others in the business. We also have apprentice/grad sports teams that staff can join which is another great way to network with others in the business.
Yes
The Savills community is diverse, supportive and a joy to be apart of. I am proud to say that I work for Savills and appreciative of all the support I receive from a vast amount of people as an apprentice when it comes to work and my studies.
Do it ! Just be yourself and show determination to do well, our company wants their staff to thrive and achieve their best potential so take advantage of this and be the best version of yourself that you can do it.
