The majority of my tasks have been based around meeting the criteria for my course and the projects necessary for that. I have also been tasked with data analysis work looking at financial figures for the regions we operate within.
Yes, I have learn to write in Python, along with the use of Power BI, SQL and various others.
I have thoroughly enjoyed both working at SSE and the apprenticeship course. At some points it felt I was a bit over my head, but there's lots of support available and that helped me a lot.
Could definitely do with some tweaking in terms of some modules are far more in depth than others. The Power BI module for example is very small in comparison, yet Power BI is a very popular piece of software for visualisation and is used by most companies in great detail.
Absolutely loads - SSE are fantastic and I owe everything to the opportunities they have given me and continue to give me. For whatever I need, I have all the support I need.
Everything I need is completely catered for. My data mentor at Cambridge Spark is absolutely wonderful and is a complete credit to the company. It had been a little rocky to start with, as my learner coach was off ill for a period of time and felt like nothing was being done, but there was a valid reason and I cannot blame anyone for that.
It's definitely given me the confidence to walk in to any situation and treat it as a new opportunity to learn. The knowledge I have been given will help me indefinitely.
I haven't really had a look at what is available because SSE offer so much! Though it really would not surprise me if SSE do have these things available.
Yes
The culture, the encouragement, the general security of such a great company that really does focus on the wellbeing of their employees
Be yourself. SSE will help you achieve what you want. If you're the right fit for the role, they'll work with you to make it happen.
