  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a dental nurse, I have duties that extend from assisting the dentist chairside, disinfecting and sterilising dental instruments, and helping reassure and comfort patients. Sometimes, I even help with reception duties which involves booking in patients, triaging and handling payment transactions.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed time management skills as well as foresight. Planning ahead sets you up for success and ensures a smooth workflow.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the structure of the course. Everything was organised and set to a timetable so I knew what topics would be covered, and I had the support of my assessor with difficult topics.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The dental nurse course was well structured so much so that my practice manager, work mentor, assessor were all aware and up to date of my progress.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I felt that I had ample opportunity to address and bring up any areas of the course that I was struggling with.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I was happy that Tempdent provided additional resources to allow for clarification. Also, the webinar tutor was very encouraging and was willing to stay behind to answer any questions that I had during the webinar that I felt too shy to ask.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I felt that during my qualification, I was undoubtedly the most knowledgeable in my team when it came to HTM 01-05, among other topics as I had just learnt the topic. I felt that the qualification helped to revive some workplace practices that were a little lax or overlooked.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No, although we do have the annual christmas party.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Tempdent – Dental Training Provider and Recruitment Agency to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I felt that from the angle of my practice, my mentor, myself as well as the assessor, we all knew how I was faring in my course. Whether I would be on track to finish or whether I'm struggling. I know that other course providers aren't so transparent.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tempdent – Dental Training Provider and Recruitment Agency?
  • Take advantage of the resources of the team as well as the documents given. Other course providers aren't so forthcoming.
