I engage with contractors and the client on construction projects regarding all commercial responsibilities in order to drive value for money and maintain cost transparency for those funding the works. This can be maintaining financial forecasts, negotiating compensation events, engaging in tenders with contractors for work, and so much more.
I have developed my confidence from an already strong position to an immaculate position, via engaging frequently with numerous parties. I have also learnt a vast number of time and task management techniques to stay on top of the demanding role.
I thoroughly enjoy my role in the company as i feel i am empowered to develop and progress. Additionally, the support in regards to developing my knowledge and capabilities is top level.
The programme from my company's standpoint is very good, however, the education provider has show lack of competency and organisation in regard to managing our studies effectively and practically around our busy schedules.
I receive a lot of support from Bentleys as they are a company that greatly invests in future prospects. It is well and truly a company where if you apply yourself and put in the effort, the rewards come promptly.
Our training provider is okay when we are physically present, however when we are completing assignments/revising remotely, they have been very challenging to reach and have often fallen well short of mine and my peers expectations.
I believe that the majority of what we learn is very applicable to our role directly, therefore it helps frequently, although i would strongly argue that I have learnt ten times more from actually doing the job opposed to our academic learning.
Luckily the project I work on has a very large client that provides a good number of activities such as charity golf days, football days and water sports days to name a few. However, i have heard that this is also commonly seen in other areas of the business and not just mine.

I believe that this apprenticeship is infinitely better than any direct university approach and everyone I know would agree. Additionally the company is set up remarkably and treats you very humanely, with a generous set of benefits also. I don't have a bad word to say about the company to date.
Really apply yourself and frequently ask for more and more responsibility. Have the confidence to grab any task/opportunity and make it your own to show people you want to stick out and be a good name in the industry. From my experience this gets you moving at a good pace professionally, instead of feeling stuck for too long.
