I am a waitress FOH which means I greet customers throughout the day and give them the best customer service I can to make sure they enjoy their visit with us. I serve food, clean and clear tables, book people in and interact with customers throughout the day. I make sure the restaurant is clean and in a good standard throughout the day ready for service
I’ve developed a lot of skills around communication and customer service skills since I’ve worked here. I can interact and confidently speak with customers a lot better and have gained more confidence in myself to do better things. I’ve learnt a lot more about the job and what happens within the job and how to upsell and make the business a better place
I enjoy the apprenticeship quite a bit it’s helping me learn to aspects to the job and new skills along the way. It helps me with my mental health and well being as well as new skills and supports me in a good way. At the end of it it means I get a good outcome
It’s organised very well I have alot of support and help to complete the program and help along the way if I get stuck and need support. It’s very well organised to ensure I am completing the work on time and if not I’m offered help if I’m behind it’s structured in a very good way as well to not overload me.
My employer supports me very well and helps me to get my apprenticeship done and complete. They give me the hours I need to complete my work and help me when I’m stuck. My managers also plan tasks for me to complete to get my off the job hours done and help in the apprenticeship.
They support me a lot to get to the point I need to get too, they support me with explaining the module to me or booking me into virtual classrooms which break down and explain what in leaning in order to work towards that qualification. My provider supports my wellbeing and easily explains to me what point I need to be at to achieve my qualification.
I’m learning a level 2 apprenticeship which is about food and beverage this means that it helps me better myself in my role and goes deeper into the things that help me do my job, like customer communication, social skills, and general knowledge to help me move up in my job role
There isn’t really extra curriculum that I can get involved in but we do have team briefings that can help to have better understandings of things. We also have staff meetings to go over targets and how we’ve done the last few months and what we can improve on.
Yes
It’s a good job to work on and they have loads of career opportunities to go into it’s a really good progression job. It gives loads of perks with the job like the privilege card that can get you discount on premier inns/food, and discount on shopping/ bills.
Make sure you’re good at working with a team and having a strong personality to work in hospitality. It can be quite a challenging job. However stick through the job as it is a really rewarding job and can get alot out of the job especially if you enjoy it and progress within
