  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the People Operations team at Marston's and we look after all salaried employees across the business. We issue employees their contracts and start their onboarding journey when they are offered their role, we action any pay/role changes in our payroll system and we make employees leavers in the system when they are leaving the business. We work really closely with the payroll team, Area Operations Managers and HR business partners to make sure all employees across the business are being paid the correct amount each pay day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • This is my first role in HR so I feel my knowledge on wider HR topics has definitely improved since I started my apprenticeship and it is really helping to improve my confidence at work. Having to complete off the job hours as part of my course has also encouraged me to speak to different members of the HR team which has also really helped to improve my confidence and my networking skills.
