As a graduate surveyor my role is varied, I spend a lot of time searching for comparable evidence to use for valuation reports and pricing exercises. As part of my current team I also review floorplans and interior designs to ensure the client can optimise the value of their development.
My excel skills have improved significantly since I started my apprenticeship. My organisational and time management skills have also improved as I balance my degree and APC alongside my everyday client work. I have also developed more confidence, talking to directors every day.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, the work is varied and everyone is really friendly. There are lots of training opportunities and I feel I can access support whenever I need it.
My programme is very structured, I move teams every 4 months to ensure I get a wide variety of experience within the company in order to complete my APC in 2 years time. I get one day off a week to study for my masters.
I receive lots of support from Savills, I have a mentor, supervisor and counsellor who I can go to at any time if I have any questions. The graduate HR team are very friendly and approachable.
I have regular meetings with my apprenticeship outreach officer at UCEM to track my progress and answer any questions. UCEM also provide workshops in between term time to provide information about the APC.
I frequently use the knowledge I learn during my masters as part of my everyday work, this helps to improve my work and I enjoy knowing that what I am learning is valuable for my job. My role also helps me complete my masters work to a higher quality.
Since joining as a graduate I have attended lots of social events both within my team and specifically for graduates. There are frequently graduate networking opportunities or charity events.
