Undertaking planning appraisals, managing planning applications, drafting and submitting representations to promote sites for development, project management, managing technical consultants.
I have learnt a great variety of skills on the job, including planning policy/legislation knowledge, project management and report writing,
I have thoroughly enjoyed the on-the-job training I have received, but was overall less impressed by the quality of the degree from the training provider.
well-structured overall
Lots of support
Limited support- lecturers often did not reply to emails, would change assignment briefs at the last minute, and tended to lack practical real-world experience in my industry
my qualification has not been that relevant to my role - everything i have learned which is most relevant has been whilst on the job
Lots of networking opportunities and we are always encouraged to take part in these.
