  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Involves me observing patient assessments, this includes history taking and physical health assessments of patients. By learning on the job as well as university lectures I can then put together and start assessing my own patients autonomously.

  • I have learnt how to history take and look out for red flags, I have also learnt the various types of assessing a patient and the use of a stethoscope and listening to certain sounds.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Engaging, right level of teaching. Lecturers approachable to ask questions. Given opportunity to practice certain skills if needed.

  • Very organised. Keep us posted by sending messages via email/ teams. Course material is uploaded weekly to moodle and any additional material we may need or want to look at is there too. They have extensive library books available online as well as journals etc

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer does regular check ins, and asks how I am doing. Allows me to put my theory into practice and is encouraging and supportive.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is very approachable and will usually get back to you very quickly with any questions you may have. They have given me extra information to further my knowledge such as critical appraising modules on NHS websites, as well as regular meetings

  • Much better. Allows theory which is taught be put into practice and is relevant. Gives me the underpinning knowledge for my role

  • We do regular walks either in the Peak District or Snowdonia and we also go out for meals or coffees
