As an aircraft maintenance technician, the day to day consists of rectifying, maintaining and servicing Boeing aircraft. Everyday is different as new challenges arise.
I have learnt a variety of skills, including conveying technical data appropriately, different handskills and developed existing ones due to the nature of the job like clear communication, leadership and teamwork.
Being able to experience a number of different facilities and workplaces definitely helps you discover your likes and dislikes. Having the ability to switch between rotorcraft and planes is a enjoyable privilege.
The programme as a whole has a level of organization and structure throughout. However, a few tweaks and changes would benefit the programmes transitions
The amount of resources and people that are willing to provide support and help is unmatched. There is countless resources that will help any situation and provide professional advice.
There is a couple of resources and aids that we receive to complete our units when working towards the qualifications. there is also advisors that are willing to point you in the right direction and answer any queries.
the qualifications layout mirrors the understanding and knowledge that you need when working in the role. It makes you retain knowledge about the workplace like health and safety, working around components and workplace do's and dont's
There is a few networking events that are put on throughout the year that allow you to connect with other workers through the level of seniority to gain valuable insight. you are given the option to attend local and national STEM events and given the ability to set up your own.
