I am currently exposed to both engineering and technician work. Two days a week I am in the workshop, carrying out maintenance tasks to keep the plant safe and efficient. I then work two days in the office where I am learning how to write up job cards.
I have learned the basics of calibrating tools and equipment, as well as how the site operates and what machinery there is on site.
I enjoy my programme when I am busy doing work and set tasks to do.
My programme is well structured. I am exposed to various different roles around the station which allows me to understand the station further.
I am well supported from my employer when I come to people with questions, I always recieve detailed answers.
I am given time to complete college work which is beneficial.
The current qualifications I am gaining do not benefit me at work very much, however I'm sure the more I get into my college work the more helpful it will be.
I am unaware of any extra curricular activities present at my site.

SSE is a great company to work for. The instruments I am exposed to at work will give me a great understanding of how power plants work.
When preparing for an interview, learn about the company. Also prepare for standard interview questions so you can walk into the interview prepared and confident.
