I work in the Commercial Banking Approvals team reviewing credit proposals for businesses (SMEs - Large corporate)
Yes part of the L7 apprenticeship has helped me develop a more strategic view, supported with developing my leadership skills, helping develop other team members. Also supported with improving my financial and non financial analysis.
I enjoy learning new topics and subjects which directly help me with my current role, helping me develop towards my next role within the bank and supports me with my other interests outside the bank, in particular as a Governor of my local secondary school as Chair of the Business Audit and Risk Committee. The lectures are kept interesting and relevant to my current role.
It has a core structure to follow, however no specific dates, which I have with the support of my Tutor put a plan in place to keep to a specific time.
I have regular meetings with my line manager, the bank supports with ensuring that I have time to invest into my learning, and time in the lead up to exams so that I can prepare as well as I can. My line manager joins meetings with my tutor to ensure that I keep on track.
I have regular meetings, Maxine provides me with a good level of support, but also ensures that she challenges me as well. I would say the support like a critical friend.
There is a direct relationship supporting me with my current role helping with analysis of information financial and non financial information. Helps me with my leadership skills and support with my confidence with undertaking project work and communicating with senior leaders
There are networking events regular team meetings and activities. I also support local secondary school as a governor which the bank supports me with through the volunteering programme. Also on a steering committee for the wider risk function in HSBCUK specifically the learning and development to support personal and career development

The team I work in is very supportive and create a positive place to work.
Preparation for competency based questions think about the job requirements and think of relevant examples which you can use to evidence your skills and experience and have a good list of examples in a STAR format, and at the end review if you would have done anything differently in hindsight.
