  • As a deputy manager, my role and responsibility is to promote high standards of care and learning across the nursery. This includes mentoring, coaching and supporting staff with their professional development and improving their practice. This also includes working alongside parents to provide best possible outcomes for children.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout my apprenticeships so far, I have learnt many new skills such as leadership skills, coaching and mentoring skills and delegating skills. I have also developed my organisational, team working and partnership skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the topics I have covered throughout my course so far. The topics are interesting and relatable and has helped me to develop my awareness on different topics beneficial to my role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured very well. It is broken into small achievable tasks and the learning platform is amazing. My assessor is also very helpful and has worked alongside me to support me throughout my course so far.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very helpful and supportive. She often given me advice and provides me with opportunities to learn and develop in different areas. I am encouraged to progress and learn new skills helping me to progress as I complete my apprenticeship programme.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My assessor has always been very supportive. She has been encouraging and motivating me throughout my course to develop new skills and work towards the type of leader I want to be.

  • This programme has helped me to develop my awareness and knowledge in different areas and topics. It has allowed me to implement changes and promote better practice and feel more confident in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We try to organise monthly social activities as a team to enable us to get to know one another outside of work. This has really helped us to build our relationships as a team and build on our team working skills.

  • Leicester Islamic Academy is a great place to work at. Staff are provided with many opportunities to learn, train and develop enabling staff to continuously develop professionally. The staff are also amazing providing a great working environment.

  • Leicester Islamic Academy is a great company to complete your course with. The support, encouragement and motivation you receive from others makes the process even more enjoyable making it an unforgettable experience!
