Supporting senior members of my team in preparing planning applications, pre-application requests, carrying out site appraisals and assisting generally. When preparing planning applications, I draft planning statements, cover letters, application forms and CIL Forms.
I have developed and am learning many new skills. Through communication with clients and case officers, I have developed my written communication skills, and when presenting during design team meetings, I have developed my verbal communication skills and confidence when presenting.
I really enjoy my programme. I enjoy the day to day tasks I am involved with and I really enjoy working as part of a team. I feel supported in preparing for my end point assessment and RTPI APC submission next year.
The programme at Savills is well structured, with regular training sessions for graduates to attend and the allocation of a mentor for my RTPI APC submission.
I receive excellent support from my employer, including the mentoring programme and the regular training days for RTPI graduates.
I receive excellent support from LSBU, including a module dedicated to the RTPI APC submission as well as further gateway preparation sessions.
The modules I have studied at LSBU so far have assisted my role by furthering my knowledge and understanding of planning theory and planning legislation. My degree also includes modules dedicated to the end point assessment which has been very helpful for my preparations.
I have attended numerous Women in Planning events which I really enjoy. I am also part of the London Women's Network at Savills.
