I work at Computacenter as an apprentice software developer, mostly developing T-SQL. I am responsible for writing and building code, identifying areas that can be improved and Participating with BAU (Business as usual). During all of this I collaborate with my team and interacted with customers that are requesting work that need to be completed.
improved on my T-sql skills (along with other programming languages), communication skills when collaborating with my team members and improving my organization skills.
Loving my program , how it works together with the learning side and actually implementing my skills learnt on my apprenticeship into my day to day work.
my programme is well structed and I have monthly check ups to see how I have working towards my goals.
I have been assigned 2 mentors from my employer i.e a day to day mentor and technical mentor, to help me with my work to do on a day to day basis. Who are both very supportive and have regular check ups.
Great support from my training provider, whenever I have an issue towards my work I can send them and email and they will let me know how to tackle my issue and even suggest what I can improve on.
It has given me a better structure to my work making me approach my work in a better manner.
I have been to a couple networking events for my apprenticeship which was great to attend. Also I have attended some team meals that occur when there are special events occurring.
Yes
The support that you receive once on the programme is great. The team are always offering help and it is a great work environment to be part of.
Be enthusiastic as possible, and just be yourself!
