I work on the trading floor to ensure that the physical delivery of energy is moved around the world in the safest, and most commercially optimal way. It's a constantly changing environment that crosses commercial instinct and geopolitics with strong business relationships and contractual obligations.
Huge exposure to a fast paced trading floor, developing soft skills such as building relationships, working in teams whilst learning about the world of energy and the energy transition, analysing and optimising deals, commercial instinct
I have really enjoyed the programme, it's really well organised and has a clear career pathway. Apprentices are very highly respected withing the company with excellent internal training and career opportunities. There are lots of other people to meet and is incredibly social.
Very well organised, clear career pathways and opportunities. Lots of varied rotations giving you a wide exposure to different areas of the world of energy trading.
Blown away by the level of support from BP. From your line managers, team members, mentors, wellness allowances and wellness days, free private healthcare, lot's of support around mental health - you couldn't fault it.
The tutors provide good support and my employer gave me plenty of opportunities to get involved in projects and the support and time to study when needed. Really enjoyed my course.
Well recognised internally with the projects I completed adding a lot of value to the business and my career.
Very social, so much to get involved with! I play touch rugby and football with work, attend dinners and networking events, lots of social opportunities, have made life long friends!

Incredibly supportive company that is committed to developing your skills and career. Loads of opportunities and a clear direction to lead the energy transition and movement to Net Zero.
Be yourself! Prepare well for interviews with examples specific to you and your personal experiences. Practice tests before-hand, but they are designed to be difficult and stressful so try not to get flustered in the real thing. Learn and understand the BP values - they are important to us!
