My role as an assistant underwriter is to review risk and provide rationales in order to assist the lead underwriter in their decision making process
on the job i have learnt a lot of new skills and developed my understanding of the industry as well as improving my excel skills
On the job, my team do a lot to ensure I am well looked after and consistently improve however off the job the overall apprenticeship programme is run very poorly and little is done by the person in charge of the apprenticeship to help
the structure of the programme is poor and has lead to many of the apprentices going over their due completion date
RSA as a company offer a lot of support to us when we speak to our teams/ managers however the apprenticeship leader does very little for us
Davies Learning solutions are absolutely poor and hinder us more than anything. many apprentices struggle to get a response from their Davies coach and we often have coaches change at random intervals
The CII qualification we recieve is incredibly helpful to us however the level 3 apprenticeship qualification achieved through davies has no impact whatsoever on our roles
No
Yes
RSA as a company has a brilliant work culture despite the apprenticeship itself being run so poorly
Avoid doing the apprenticeship
